The pre-schoolers enjoyed helping to prepare home-made chocolate chip cookies and home-made tea for their "Teddy Bears and Tea Party!".  Everyone was dressed to impress for the event, with the pre-schoolers wearing fancy dresses and the bears in their finest clothes.  One bear even came...

This will be the 3rd year that they have participated in the Annual African-American Read-In and the children are looking forward to this event!  The Read-In is a time to read age-appropriate books by people of African descent and a time to encourage literacy amongst all children/people...

The children are preparing decorations, songs and a game in preparation for Kwanzaa time where they will get the chance to showcase their talents and kuumba (creativity).

On Thanksgiving, we ALL will have something for which we can be grateful/thankful!  And if you are Ayana and your 5th birthday falls on Thanksgiving, you have TWICE as many things for which you can be thankful!  Happy upcoming 5th Birthday Ayana!

The boys and Hussain left this morning to travel westward to California.  We can't wait to hear what they have to share!
