In response to the devastating earthquake that has shook the nation of Haiti, the children has prepared donations to assist in the efforts. Interesting enough, the children has also increased their knowledge of Haiti, noting that Haiti was one of the first nations to free themselves of colonial rule and becasue of that, Haitians inspired African-American (and others) to continue to fight for their own freedom! Although plagued by a corrupt government and poverty, Haitians still serve as a symbol of strength! During this time of tragedy, it has given us the opportunity to, once again, see how we are all connected and to better understand our purpose to serve others. For Muhammad Ali once stated, "The rent we pay to be on this earth, is to be of service to others..."
